Prescott Police Department receives traffic enforcement grantOn March 3, 2009 the director of the Governor's Office of Highway Safety signed a grant contract giving Authorization to Proceed to the Prescott Police Department to enhance enforcement efforts related to traffic safety.

According to the Polic Department's press release, the total grant received was in the amount of $16,000 which will be used for overtime to conduct increased traffic enforcement and education.

This grant will allow the Prescott Police Department to have an increased officer presence in areas with high accident rates and will allow those officers to concentrate on traffic enforcement rather than being subject to routine calls for service.

Prescott Police Department continues to request and appreciates voluntary compliance with all traffic laws by the motoring public.
